Kathy LaPorte is a Partner and concentrates on our pharmaceutical companies. Kathy was one of the founders of New Leaf upon its spin out from the Sprout Group in 2005. Kathy joined the Sprout Group in 1993 and became a General Partner in 1994. Between 1987 and 1993, she was a Principal at Asset Management Company, a venture capital firm focused on early stage investments. Previously, she was a financial analyst with The First Boston Corporation. Ms. LaPorte's focus is on biopharmaceutical and diagnostic investments. She is the Past President, and a former member of the Board of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists. Ms. LaPorte received an M.B.A. from Stanford University Graduate School of Business (Arjay Miller Scholar), and a B.S., summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Yale University.
